fan page for Thailand in Europe.
When we returned from Thailand, we spent days telling friends about our adventures. We met many other people who had already visited this magical place. Or when several people have been to Thailand, then they speak the same language. The more time passed, the more nostalgia overcame us and the desire to return again soon. To go to the sea in wintertime, accompanied by a palette of other goodies, it sounded inspiring. On top of that, we came home with such a tan that compared to our compatriots and the season in Bulgaria, we looked a bit ridiculous, but...proud of the fact. We were heroes in our own eyes because we had also put our flag on the destination beloved by millions. Somehow, the end of 2011 came imperceptibly and thoughts of going there came flooding back. We decided to give ourselves a bit of a break and set ourselves up for the real winter, our own, without the sea. People sometimes say that memories don't keep you warm, but that turned out not to be the case. Gathering in the company of people who had visited Thailand, we started discussing the idea of making either a website or a Facebook fan page where everyone could share interesting stories, photos and videos from there. Of course, at that point, everyone looks to others to organize this process, simply because they don't want to waste any extra time. "Okay...", I said then and continued "I'll make a Facebook page". I said and hung up.
On 11/17/2011, a fan page was born, which I named uniquely "Secrets of Thailand". To begin with, I posted my memories and material, and very soon several friends were sending me theirs to an email address I had provided, and I was posting regularly day by day, mentioning their names as authors of the material. Slowly the page grew as my friends told their friends, who in turn told third parties. Weeks later, I'd already passed the 1,000 fan mark. My email was clogged with photos and videos. I had an awful lot of work to do downloading them, describing them by folder and location. Amateur stuff, with no commercial purpose, but the work became so intense at one point that I had to spend whole nights after official working hours at my titular other job, doing this work as well, which to this day gives me great pleasure. The time quickly came for me to make another important decision. Many fans from European countries appeared, and my page was in Cyrillic mode. I registered a second page in Latin and naturally named "Thailand-Secrets". This allowed me to temporarily split the page into two, one in Bulgarian, the other in English only. Not long after, however, fans from other countries began to grow exponentially, and those from all other continents appeared. Then I had to take a risk and use Facebook's rule of merging two pages with similar name and content. However, the social network did not guarantee that the transfer would be successful and there was a possibility, albeit small, that I would lose both fan pages. The other condition was that the larger one would "eat" the smaller one, and I waited a few days to have the opportunity to choose the English one as the leading one. This all happened at the end of 2012. Apparently, luck covered me again and I succeeded. From two fan pages of 20,000 fans each, I now had 40,000 fans at my disposal. I felt proud. In this period, I managed to become a partner of the Honorary Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Bulgaria. On their website, I had video and photo links to my page. I have to this day. During this period, many travel agencies started looking for me to sell their travel packages, not only to Thailand but to all of Asia. I refused every single one. Why? I decided I didn't want to kill my hobby at such an early stage, nor confuse the fans on the page by inundating them with countless offers. This was, and still is, a page primarily for fun and sharing both memories and posting real-time happenings, photos and videos from various parts of Thailand. Every day from 2011 to the present time that each of you are reading this, I have been posting over 30 pieces of material daily, adhering to certain social networking rules of a minimum of 30 minutes between each post. It was these rules that motivated me, at the end of the following year 2013, to register a website with the same name www.Thailand-Secrets.net , so that people can quickly and easily access and enjoy my and everyone else's material. In addition to a lot of work, I also had to invest in website programming, as well as further promoting the whole project on Facebook. Every hobby requires its time and investment, which if it doesn't weigh on you, one realizes with real pleasure and passion.
