44. The second “Thailand-Secrets” party took place at the end of the summer of 2017!
As I have said many times before, every next step in the development of the project is about image
building. Three years after the very fun and successful first Thai party, the idea of organizing a second one
came. I wanted it to be outdoors this time. I envisioned it around a big pool, with many more people, fun
games and attractions. And so it happened. I had a series of conversations with the owners of possible
locations for the idea and very quickly made a decision. Everything had to be a fact on 27.08.2017. The
chosen location was secured by a leading restaurant chain in Sofia. There was a large swimming pool, a
semi-enclosed restaurant and many outdoor tents and seating areas. Its capacity was about 800 people.
All these parameters met my high requirements perfectly. Once the all-important first step of securing a
quality location was realized, it was time to negotiate with potential partners to bring a Thai feel. Qatar
Airways, who have become my regular partners, immediately added two free tickets to Thailand. Over
the years, I have held several online and offline games with the airline and as always, they have predictably
supported me now. The second party also featured the obligatory Thai massage studio "Thaimout".
Together with them, we set up a special tent near the stage for them to perform free Thai massages every
5 minutes. Unlike the first party, I also managed to find a company in Sofia that offered several services,
which I took advantage of immediately. They provided Thai dance performers in traditional attire, a great
fire show with knives, and the opportunity for people to send burning lanterns into the sky wishing each
other well. An online flower shop, on the other hand, gave a flower to every lady who crossed the
doorstep. Again, many photos and videos were played on several screens located at all points of the bar,
running throughout and transporting us to an authentic Thai setting. This time I went for leading ladies.
The party was ably managed by two beautiful young ladies from the two private national TV stations in
Bulgaria. Many other companies partnered the event, each providing a large prize fund. Samsonite
participated with several suitcases, backpacks and wallets. Alcohol companies provided quality
champagne and wine. Another local company handed out dozens of one-ounce chocolates. Many
vouchers for 30- and 60-minute Thai massages were also available for prizes. On the actual day of the
party, which was Saturday, the weather was also with us. It had been raining all week, but hours before
the party my famous luck worked and opened up the sunny skies that also wanted to be part of this
awesome Thai celebration. People were dressed appropriately, and everyone had something stylish or
extravagant planned. Together with my partners we managed to attract 750 people, which inevitably
made the atmosphere as I imagined it. As trivia, I can share that the party was attended by many VIPs and
was also found to be a good occasion for as many as three bachelorette parties. Dozens of prizes were
given away, lots of alcohol was consumed, and smiles never left people's faces. I was left with a sense of
satisfaction for the work done and the goals accomplished.
